Caucus Pledge
As a proud American, I solemnly affirm my commitment to the enduring principles of the Moderate Republicans movement. Rooted in deep patriotism, a profound love for the United States of America, and a belief in the promise of our Constitution and democratic institutions, I pledge to uphold and advance a Republican Party that is civil, innovative, principled, and relentlessly focused on real solutions.
I believe in a conservatism that builds rather than tears down, that engages rather than divides, and that offers thoughtful leadership in a complex world. With that spirit, I pledge the following:
Core Commitments:
1. Country First
I will place the interests of the American people and the strength of our republic above partisan loyalty or personal gain. My service will be guided by principle, not popularity, and always rooted in a love of country.
2. Problem Solving
I will focus on solutions, not slogans. I will bring forward-looking ideas and support bold experimentation to solve real-world problems. I recognize that innovation – technological, economic, and institutional – is essential to preserving America's global leadership.
3. Consensus Building
I believe that democracy thrives through debate and cooperation, not division. I will conduct myself with professionalism and civility, striving to foster dialogue, build coalitions, and advance lasting solutions, even when they come through incremental progress.
4. Critical Thinking
I will think independently and encourage others to do the same. I reject groupthink and political dogma, and I will seek evidence-based, objective information as the foundation of my decision-making and leadership.
5. Truth Seeking
I will honor the truth, even when it is inconvenient. I will not distort facts or reject science to serve political ends. I believe that elected representatives have a duty to pursue truth, draw from a wide range of perspectives, and communicate honestly with the public.
6. Long-Term Thinking
I will advocate for policies that go beyond the next election and are grounded in a strategic vision for America’s future. I believe responsible leadership must account for the long-term impacts of today’s decisions on our economy, environment, and national security.
7. Optimism and Patriotism
I will lead with hope and confidence in America's potential. I believe that the best days of our country are still ahead, and I will work to ensure that our nation remains a beacon of opportunity, liberty, and justice for all.
Governing Principles:
I further affirm my dedication to:
Limited Government and Fiscal Responsibility
I support a government that is efficient, restrained, and financially sustainable; one that empowers individuals, not bureaucracy.Transparency and Accountability
I will work to ensure that government at all levels is open, ethical, and answerable to the people it serves.Free Market Capitalism and Economic Freedom
I will champion open markets, individual enterprise, and innovation as the cornerstones of American prosperity.National Defense and Global Leadership
I will support a strong national defense and principled American leadership abroad to defend freedom and democracy.Privacy, Liberty, and Personal Responsibility
I will protect civil liberties and the right of Americans to live free from unwarranted intrusion, while promoting the values of personal responsibility and civic duty.
By joining the Moderate Republicans Caucus, I commit to governing with integrity, advancing meaningful solutions, and restoring a culture of respect and results in American politics.
